Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

Hey guys, today's post is a review on the latest addition to Urban Decay's Naked line, the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette (49€). When I saw the previews online I couldn't contain my excitement and I started counting the days to the release. Compared to Urban Decay’s other Naked palettes, this one definitely has a darker theme and as the name suggests, this palette is designed to have everything you need to create the perfect smoky eye.

I absolutely adore the packaging and out of all Naked palettes, this one is by far my favourite. It looks really modern and sleek and feels quite sturdy. I love the design and gunmetal printing and it also comes with a full sized mirror inside. You also get a double ended crease brush which has a fine point on one side and a blending brush on the other. I actually really like these Urban Decay brushes, they're good quality brushes, blend nicely and come in very handy when you're traveling.

This palette has a really good mix of neutral and cool shades, all of them work so well together. The shades range from really beautiful high shimmer and satiny eye shadows to four matte colours. All Urban Decay eye shadows I've tried so far feel buttery smooth and blend so easy and nicely. The pigmentation is, as expected, absolutely gorgeous and apparently this palette contains 9 brand new, never seen before shades!

High is a stunning champagne shimmer that would look gorgeous as a highlight in the inner corner or brow bone. You could also use it all over the lid as it's highly pigmented and would make your eyes look wide awake.
Dirtysweet is a medium bronze, almost coppery shade with shimmer. You could compare it to Half Baked but it's definitely more muted. It has a nice colour payoff with a soft, smooth texture.
Radar is a medium, warm taupe with golden shimmer and yellow undertones.
Armor is a grey-taupe colour, with silver glitter flecks, you get a little bit of fall out with glitter eye shadows but once it's on the lid it stays put.
Slanted is a sheer silver shade with blue undertones.
Dagger is a dark, satin grey shade with a tiny bit of shimmer.

Black Market is a muted black shade, perfect for a soft smokey eye.
Smolder is a deep purple shade with shimmer, this one works best with a purple cream eye shadow underneath to really bring out the colour.
Password is a muted, dark taupe with cool undertones and a matte finish.
Whiskey is a matte, warm brown with a very smooth texture.
Combust is a matte mauvy pink/beige shade. It has good pigmentation and blends nicely.
Thirteen is a matte pale pink colour, very pigmented and brightening. The texture is soft, finely-milled, and very blendable on the skin.

I absolutely love this palette and what I really like the mix of warm and cool toned shades, you can create neutral daytime looks as well as smoking it up for a more intense look. I'll be filming some makeup tutorials using this palette so stay tuned for that! :)

Will you be picking up this palette?
