Easy Cake Pop Recipe

I'll just admit it here, I'm such a noob at baking, so I'm always on the lookout for easy recipes that I can try and hopefully, whatever it is I'm baking, turns out nice. I wanted to bake cake pops for so long and I finally got around to it this weekend. Oh boy, I had no idea that cake pops are a heck of a lot harder to make than they appear at first but I learned the hard way. However, this recipe is foolproof, you'll only need a few ingredients and they taste A M A Z I N G.

- 100g soft butter
- 100g caster sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1 TS vanilla sugar
- 1 TS baking powder
- 1 large egg
- 150g plain flour
- 100ml milk
- 200g pink candy melt
- colourful sprinkles
- lollipop sticks
- cake pop baking pan

01. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Cream the butter, salt, sugar and vanilla sugar together and crack in the egg. Then fold in the flour and baking powder and slowly add the milk.

02. Grease and flour your cake pop baking pan, this will help the cake balls pop out easily. Spoon the mixture into the pan (these things are godsend) and fill the bottom cups completely full and bake for 20 minutes.

03. Let your cake balls completely cool for 10-15 minutes. Then, for the fun part, it's time to decorate. I used 200g pink candy melt. To prevent your cake pops from falling off the sticks, I recommend dipping them into the melted candy first because hardened candy coating acts as glue. Let the candy and sticks cool and harden before moving on. Then, dip your cake pops into the melted candy and tap off the excess coating. I then added a few sprinkles and let them completely cool in the fridge. Et voilá, they taste so good and I think they turned out so pretty! Let me know what you think :)
